Restyle Your Bathroom with a New Cabinet

Bathroom cabinets are essential for creating functional storage space in your bathroom. The right bathroom cabinet can significantly enhance the design of your bathroom.

Current trends in bathroom cabinets is succinctly summarised in the phrase ’sleek and simple’. Minimalist bathroom designs call for sleek, smart, contemporary bathroom cabinets. Some of the most popular cabinets today are made from stainless steel with mirrored doors.

Most bathrooms are compact with very little spare space so the bathroom cabinet needs to be very space effiicient. This has brought about the availability of bathroom cabinets in a great range of sizes and shapes that will make good use of whatever space is available, no matter how small. There are very practical, compact corner cabinets along with full length wardrobe size cabinets that would make a great focal point.

I’ve mentioned how one of the most popular modern cabinet materials is stainless steel but equally popular are a range of natural wood finishes. Natural Oak, Cherry and Maple can really add warmth to a bathroom.

Traditionally people like to have a cabinet that will fit above their bathroom sink with a mirror for shaving. You can find modern bathroom cabinets that come ready fitted with shaver socket and bathroom mirror lights that are the pinnacle of luxury and practicality.

But if a new cabinet is beyond your means why not freshen up the one you have. A couple of coats of paint can really work wonders. While it may seem like a good idea to paint around the hinges and door handles it is always a better idea to remove them first. Use a good quality primer paint followed by gloss or eggshell that is suitable for hot, wet, humid environments. Once you refit your hinges, doors and door handles you will have a wonderfully transformed bathroom cabinet.
